William F. Esken, 83, of Terre Haute died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004, in Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a retired accountant with International Minerals Corp., and worked in the mens' department at Schultz and Co. He was born April 13, 1921, in Terre Haute to Albert W.H. Esken and Leora Withrow Esken. Survivors include his wife, Ulta Thomas Esken, whom he married Oct. 16, 1948. He was a graduate of Wiley High School and was a member of the Civitan Club, where he was president for one year. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a 60-year member of the Travelers Protection Agency. He was a long-time member of Terre Haute First Baptist Church, where he was honored for 40 years of service as chairman of building and grounds maintenance. Services are 7:30 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bernie Jackson officiating. Visitation is 5 to 7:30 p.m., in the church. Private burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Terre Haute First Baptist Church, 4701 Poplar St., Terre Haute, IN 47803. Callahan Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.3,2 |
