Annie M. Gladden.
LOCKBRIDGE -- Annie M. Gladden, 87, died Saturday, March 16, 1996, in a Fairlea medical center following a long illness. Born July 4, 1908, at Lockbridge, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Octavia Kincaid Stickler. Mrs. Gladden was a homemaker and a member of the Thorny Point Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel O. Gwinn; her second husband, Lester Gill, and two sons, James and Dempsey Gwinn. Survivors include her husband, Richard Gladden; two sons, Harley C. Gwinn and his wfie, Sadie of Lockbridge and Bobby R. Gwinn and his wife, Sylvia of Lititz, Pa; three daughters Mildred Wickline and her husband Jim of Lockbridge, Juanita Shoff and her husband, Joe of Mountville, Pa., and Nelma Fitzwater and her husband, Jesse of New Castle, Del; two daughters-in-law, June Gwinn of Flint, Mich., and Gale Gwinn of Flushing, Mich; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Services will be 11 am Wednesday at the Lockbridge United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Fizpatrick and Aaron Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the Dequasie Cemetery, Lockbridge. Friends may call 7 pm to 9 pm today at the Smathers Funeral Home, Rainell and one hour before the services Wednesday at the church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. John served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean war and was a self employed mechanic. Preceding him in death were his siblings, Ruth, Janet, Richard, Jennie and Billy and two grandchildren, Devon Lee Kesler and Angelica Faith Kesler. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane Wiseman Kesler; sons, John David and wife Vicky, Tom and wife Jessica and Mark and wife Brenda; grandson, Christopher Kesler; sister, Nancy K. Piper; sister in law, Vesta Kesler; nieces, Betty Jo Coon, Pam K. Lyons, Rebecca Olsen, Beth Blair, Jane Mahoney and Mary Hull; nephews, Jim, Kenton and Joe Kesler and David Piper; several great nieces and nephews and special friends, Kenneth and Jean Willey. At his request he will be cremated. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.4 |
