Jessie Riner Wiley was born on July 29, 1919, at Gatewood, a daughter of the late Lud C. and Russie Riner. She died Feb. 15, 2006, after a short illness while a patient at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala.
She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and Manchester College in Manchester, Ind. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dothan, Ala. She was active in several garden clubs in Montgomery and Dothan, where she won a number of awards for her flower arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Wiley; three brothers, Glendon, Aubrey and Paul; and two sisters, Clara Dooley and Audrey Ray.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Everett and husband, Grady, of New Bern, N.C., and Alice Wiley of Mobile, Ala; a son, Darryl Malek-Wiley and wife, Rebecca, of New Orleans, La; two grandchildren, Richard Everett and wife, Kelly, and Heather and husband, Hunter; and a great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by two sisters, Grisilda Murphy of Avon Park, Fla., and Ila Mae Maynor and husband, Robert, of Sunday Road, Hico; and a brother, Carl Riner and wife, Ruth, of Gatewood.
The body was cremated.5,6 |
