Robert (Bob) Wynn Monohan, 76, of Princeton, WV, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on October 7, 1942, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late James Rupert and Lois Evelyn Monohan. Bob was a graduate of Athens High School and attended Concord College. In February of 1961, he joined the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Bob received many commendations and awards. He was most proud of his place with the U.S.A.F Thunderbirds, traveling the world with the team participating in air shows. After retiring from the air force in 1987 as a Master Sergeant, Bob was employed by Princeton Health Care Center, Pulaski Furniture Company and held the position of Mercy County Director of Homeland Security. During his free time, Bob enjoyed attending air shows, reading, hunting, fishing, telling stories and cooking for his family. Bob is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart Kay White Monohan; two sons James and John; one step-son Kelly Pendry (Gina); two step-daughters Beth Hibbitts (Rob); Lisa Swearengin (Marc). His memory will continue to live on in his grandchildren; Robert Monohan; Mackenzie, Eli, Delaney and Teague Pendry; Taylor, Ally and Caleb Hibbitts; Sophie and Piper Swearengin.He leaves behind one brother James Monohan (Gwen) of Charlottesville, Virginia; two sisters Rebecca McCormick (Carl) of St. Albans; Mary Kidd (John) of Bluefield, Virginia; along with beloved nieces and nephews. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies Ted Goines and Kenny Monohan. Bob’s wishes for cremation will be honored. A time of visiting and sharing memories will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Military graveside rites will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com. The Monohan family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.2

George Ollie Plymale, 80, of Star Route, Covington, died in the Riverview Rest Home yesterday at 5:55 p.m. after a lingering illness.

He was born in Alleghany County, Dec. 18, 1874, the son of the late George Oliver and Mary Byers Plymale, both of Alleghany County.

Mr. Plymale was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Alleghany County. He attended Wet Ground Methodist Church.
Funeral will be from the chapel of the Arritt Funeral Home, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Chattin officiating, assisted by the Rev. Samuel R. Stone. Interment will be in Helmintoller Cemetery, Potts Creek.

The body will remain at the Arritt Funeral Home.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Helmintoller Plymale; seven daughters, Mrs. H. A. Persinger, Mrs. B. W. Rapp, Mrs. L. E. Leffel, Mrs. L. J. Schuder and Mrs. W. G. Persinger, all of Covington; Mrs. A. H. Humphries, Oak Hill, W. Va. And Mrs. Stephen Homnack, Wikes-Barre, five sons, Henry Plymale, Charlie O. Plymale, Lonnie E. Plymale, Covington and Parker L. Plymale, Petersburg and 19 grandchildren. A half-brother, Lewis Ira Terry, preceded him in death, Nov. 28, 1954.

Active pallbearers will be Delbert Armentrout, Roscoe Armentrout, Bill Byer, Stewart Stone, Harold Terry and Walter Byer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. N. B. James Franklin Helmintoller, age 73, of Franklin, TN, died Saturday evening November 26, 2011 at his home with his wife and children by his side. He was born July 9, 1938 to parents William and Nellie Kincaid Helmintoller. Jim lived in and around Mount Hope, WV most of his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Keener. Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon (Elkins) Helmintoller. Children: Jeff (Christine) Helmintoller, Gallatin, TN, Lori Helmintoller, Hendersonville, TN, Betsy (Dwayne) Burress, Franklin, TN and Joey (LeAnne) Helmintoller, Franklin, TN. Grandchildren: Shayla and Drew Helmintoller, Gallatin, TN, Brandon (Penny) Burress, Spring Hill, TN, Kristen Burress, Franklin, TN , and Elli Helmintoller, Franklin, TN; and sister Evelyn Horrocks, Parma, OH.

Jim worked in the color pigment industry for 43 years beginning with Ferro Corporation in Cleveland, OH as a lab technician and started his own business with a partner in Memphis, TN. They then sold the business and Jim began working in Franklin, TN in the mid 70’s as Vice President Product Manager of Prime Colorants.

Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was very involved with his own children’s activities and his commitment to children was evident by his involvement with Williamson County Soccer Association since moving to Franklin in 1977. In recent years past he was head soccer coach at Centennial High School with his son Joey as assistant coach and his grandson, Brandon, played on the team. Jim loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, working in the yard and family vacations to the beach and the mountains. He loved to grill for family cookouts and his specialty was barbeque ribs. It was also tradition for him to make his delicious/yummy peanut butter fudge every year at Christmas time.

He was an active member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church where Pastor Michael Lippard will conduct a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to service with lunch and fellowship following service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Meditation Garden or Pipe Organ Fund at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 908 Murfreesboro Rd., Franklin, TN 37064.1
