James died on 23 Dec 2009 at Roanoke, VA. James Norman Eads Sr., known as Uncle Quarter by all his nieces and nephews, 69, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Charleston, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 23, 2009.
He was in the U.S. Army paratroopers 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Ky. He attended Stonewall Jackson High School and worked at Fike Chemical for 17 years. He was a member of the Nitro Moose for over 40 years.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Josephine Boggess Eads; parents, Norman A. Eads and Clella M. Eads; sisters, Norma Alexander and Annette Bostic; and one brother, Joe A. Eads.

Surviving: children, Kathryn (Richard) Phillips of Vienna, Ill., Christine (Rick) Rose of Roanoke, Va., James Norman Eads Jr. of Vienna Ill., Jennie M. (Monty) Wallace of Chesapeake, and Michael J. Eads of Toledo, Ohio; stepchildren, Harold (Linda) Harper of Cincinnati, Ohio, April (Ronnie) Moore of Hobe Sound, Fla., Angie (Todd) Higginbotham of Winfield and Kelly (Jeff) Moonshower of Marietta, Ga; brother, Ray Eads of North Carolina and Jack Eads of Pennsylvania; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at the Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul G. Cogar Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Alexander; two sons, Lee Allen Stalnaker and Lyle Michael Stalnaker. She is survived by her sons, Larry Stalnaker of Texas, Gene Stalnaker of Beckley; daughters, Lona Akers of Paradise, Linda LoPresti of Petersburg; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. There will be no services. Mrs. Alexander will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, mom requested donations be sent to: Feed The Children, Box 36, Oklahoma City, Ok 73101. His life began on May 3, 1928 in Charleston, WV and ended on April 20, 2019 in Duluth, GA, his home of many years. He was preceeded in death by his father, Doyle Grice Shea and his mother, Catherine Weiskircher. Jack leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 72 years, Dorothy Shea, four daughters and three sons in law, that were more sons than "in laws", including Danny Pickens, Sr. Sandi Wilmesherr (Ken), Cathie Frechen (Lee), Beth Blanford (Bob) and Charlotte Shea. 10 Grandchildren; Erich Frechen (Simmie), Wendy Clyne, Matthew Wilmesherr (Meg), Bryan Frechen, Andrew Wilmesherr (Emily), Catie Jordan (Jacob), Megan Pickens, Ginny Huff (Cameron), John Blanford (Katie), Michael Blanford (Danielle). 11 Great Grandchildren; Dylan Clyne, Ryleigh Clyne, Addalyn Frechen, Liesl Wilmesherr, Piper Eckart, Connor Blanford, Allie Blanford, Kaya Pickens, Eliyanah Jordan, Jackson Huff, and Evangeline Wilmesherr and many nieces and nephews.

Jacks was a life full of love, adventure and accomplishment. He served his country in the US Navy and was a WV State Trooper in Martinsburg, WV. He then went on to a long successful career in the Insurance Industry in management with Dairyland Insurance, Nationwide Insurance, Sentry Insurance and ultimately as the President and CEO of Colonial Insurance of California. Outside of his successful business career, Jack had a passion for Big Band music and could often be found in his home office, transferring music from albums to CD's and tapping into his very creative side by making CD covers and labels. Jack was also a man of God. He served in leadership roles in both the Methodist and Presbyterian Church's. His strong faith, love of family and friends, travel, storytelling and never ending sense of humor, defined him as the good man that he was.

While he will be greatly missed by his family and friends, we are all comforted to know that he is at peace and is with his Savior.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of his life will be held at Johns Creek Presbyterian Church, 10950 Bell Rd., Johns Creek, GA, on Friday, May 3rd at 2:30 PM.³

Thomas M. Coleman, 86, of Shoreacres, Texas, died Jan. 12, 2007.

Mr. Coleman was born in Chelyan on May 8, 1920, to John Calvin Coleman and Beatrice Murray Coleman.

In 1941, Mr. Coleman's name was chosen by President Roosevelt as the second name in the second drawing for the draft. Mr. Coleman served honorably in the Army during World War II. In Shoreacres, he served as the president of the Shoreacres Civic Association and also was vice-president for several terms. He was also the first recipient of the Shoreacres Citizen of the Year Award in 1997. Besides being a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mr. Coleman served as an usher and was also active in St. Mary's Knights of Columbus. Mr. Coleman was named Sir Knight Thomas M. Coleman, a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus Council 771 in Charleston, and was an honorary lifetime member; a charter member of SEACAP; and a member of the American Legion in the Robert W. Mills Post 452 in Harrison Township, N.J. He was the Plant Manager at Liquid Air before he retired.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Kathryn Coleman; son, Thomas Coleman and wife, Kathleen, of Sharpsburg, Ga; daughter, Kathy Coleman of La Porte, Texas; brother, Gene Coleman of Oak Harbor, Wash; sister, Beatrice ?B.B.? Clark of Chesapeake; six grandchildren, Michael David Coleman, Adina H. Coleman-Kline, D. Christopher Coleman, Erin M. Fuches, Caroll Lee Weippert, and Leann Coleman; and seven great-grandchildren, Michael Coleman, Shayne Coleman, Kiara Fuches, Aiden Fuches, Vanessa Kline, Thomas Weippert, and Kristian Weippert.

A funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Eric Pitre at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 816 Park St., La Porte, Texas, at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007. The Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas. Mr. Coleman's granddaughter, Leann Coleman, will play ?Taps? during the flag-folding ceremony to honor an Army veteran. A Rosary was held at the Paul U. Lee-La Porte Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15.^3,10
