Zelpha Mae Martin Matheny, 91, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008. She was born May 31, 1917, the daughter of the late Elijah Withrow and Anna Maude Sydnor Withrow. Her two husbands, Joseph Alonzo Martin and Grover Cleveland Matheny, both preceded her in death. She was a retired nurse from Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Surviving are two sons, Keith Martin and his wife, Shirley, of Vinton, and Curtis Martin Sr. of Vinton; four grandchildren, Angela Price, Curtis Martin Jr., Brian Martin and Eric Martin; six greatgrandchildren, Caitlin, Christa, Meaghan, Matthew, Miranda and Bryce; three brothers, Glen Withrow, Ivan Withrow and Carl Withrow; two sisters, Thelma Irwin and Charlotte Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008, at Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Roy Heinlen and the Rev. Burrell Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel.4
