Born May 18, 1930 at Kilsyth, WV she was the daughter of the late John and Ella Osborne Tennant.

Mrs. Carter was a member of the Kilsyth Freewill Baptist Church and the Forest Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen "Punk" Carter; brothers, Cecil Tennant and Reginald Auxier; two infant sisters, Mickey Marie and Norma Lee; sister, Margie James; and son-in-law, Johnny Parker.

Those left to cherish her memory include, one son, Joe Carter and wife, Mary; daughters, Peggy Parker, Shelia Hurley and husband, Donald, Bonnie Marshall and husband, Eugene; fourteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a special nephew, Randy James.

Services will be on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Marvin Prevost and wife, Peaches officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.2
