HINTON — Mildred Elizabeth Ayers, 91, of Rt. 1, formerly of Green Sulphur Springs, died at 3:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation at Hilldale following a long illness.

Born Feb. 18, 1914, at Green Sulphur Springs, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Martha Ellen Marion.

Ms. Ayers was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Ayers, on April 29, 1975.

Also preceded by two sons, Dallas Ayers and Elmer Ayers; three sisters, Nova Richmond, Rachel Johnson and Barbara Wilkerson; three brothers, David Marion, Woodrow Marion and Newman Marion.

Survivors include two sons, Samuel Franklin Ayers and wife Deloris of Fredericksburg, Va., and Harvey Earl Ayers and wife Sharon of Crawley, W.Va; five daughters, Geraldine Turner and husband Donald of Partlow, Va., Maydell Burdette and husband Glispy of Meadow Creek, W.Va., Faith A. Bragg and companion Gene Kelly of Beckley, Martha J. Lilly and husband Harold of Meadow Bridge, and Bertie Jo Cyrus of Oak Hill; a daughter-in-law, Donna Ayers of Kernersville, N.C; one sister, Beulah Murphy of Hawkinsville, Ga; and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Holland of Hinton; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of friends also survive.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Bill Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Hallidan Cemetery at Green Sulphur Springs.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beulah was a native of Green Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She was a homemaker and is survived by her daughter, Nancy Carol Murphy of Hawkinsville, Georgia; special friends, Hubert Wright, Claudine Pitzer and loyal friend Max.
