Born June 16, 1915, in Mercer County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Davy Farmer and Susie Mariah (Meadows) Farmer.

Pinkie was a homemaker for most of her life and will be missed by all of her family and close friends. She was also a member of Crab Orchard Gospel Tabernacle.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Edward Wheeler; a son, Buster Wheeler; and a daughter, Virginia Bell Wheeler.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Myrtle Greer of Sophia, Kenneth L. Wheeler and wife, Brenda of Beckley, Danny Wheeler and wife, Shannon, of Beckley, Glen Wheeler and wife, Margie, of Virginia, and Jerry Wheeler, Jr., and wife, Sheryl, of Virginia; 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A life celebration for Pinkie will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, with Rev. Tom Waddell officiating. Interment will follow at the Canady Cemetery in Glen View.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
