Betty Lee Murphy, 77, of Oak Hill, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Hidden Valley Center. Born October 10, 1935 at Oak Hill, the daughter of the late Walker Treadway and Ida Mae Morris Treadway.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Walker Treadway and Ida Mae Treadway; daughter Tina Murphy; brothers Calvin Treadway, Arnold Treadway, Leonard Treadway, Oather Treadway, and Junior Treadway; and one sister Joanna Wickline.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Frederick "Fred" Murphy, children Donald Greiner and wife Kathy of Lakeland FL, Charles Greiner of Lakeland FL, Judy Garrett and husband Norman of Texas, Susan Nichols and husband Donald of Lakeland FL, and Chris Murphy and wife Betty of Fayetteville WV; brothers Harold Treadway, Shirley Treadway; sister Mildred Scott; 14 grandchildren Bethanie, Serena, Joey, Samantha, Katrina, Matthew, Chad, Nathan, Donny, Alicia, Frankie, Misty, Tina, and Amy; and 22 great grand children.
Her remains rests at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, where the funeral will be held 2pm Saturday with Pastor Larry Humphrey officiating and where the family will receive friends from 1pm until time of service. Burial will follow at Treadway Cemetery, Oak Hill.

Frederick Jackson Murphy, 89, of Oak Hill, passed away May 28, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston following a long illness.
Born Dec. 5, 1930 in Concho, he was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Jackson Murphy. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lee Treadway Murphy; infant daughter, Tina Marie Murphy; stepson, Charles Griener; siblings, George Murphy, Virginia Brown, Madeline Bibb, Pat Murphy, Pete Murphy and Joyce Simmons.
Mr. Murphy was a retired welder in the construction industry. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was of the Christian faith. Fred and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Chris Murphy and wife Betty of Fayetteville; stepchildren, Donny Griener and wife Kathy of Summersville, Judy Garrett of Texas and Susie Nichols and husband Donald of Florida; granddaughter, Bethanie Thompson and husband Kyle of Fayetteville; great granddaughter, Allison Grace Thompson of Fayetteville; along with several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial with military honors were held May 31 at the Treadway Family Cemetery in Oak Hill with Pastor Larry Humphrey officiating.

Shirley Edward Treadway, 82, of Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on April 12, 2020. Born March 2, 1938, he was the son of the late walker and Ida Mae Treadway.
Shirley was a member of the Sun Full Gospel Church and loved singing the praises of God.
Shirley loved to keep his hands busy, He was a building contractor, electrician, welder mechanic and so much more.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brother; Oather, Walker Jr., Arnold, Calvin and Leonard Treadway, and two sisters; Joann Wickline and Betty Murphy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 42 years, Jo Ann Treadway, four sons; Clint (Tammy), Curtis (Kathy), Kevin (Mary) Tradway, and Robert Ramsey (Sandy) and two daughters; Debbie (Eugene) Landam, and Teresa (Jeff) Riffe. He will be missed by hs grandchildren; Tuesday, Kasarah, Britney, Triston, Clint Jr., Brandon, Amanada, Andrea, Shone, Candice, Jade, Dillon, Roby, Cody and several great grandchildren. . He is also survived by his brother Harold (Kaye) Treadway, and sister, Mildred Scott and several nieces and nephews and his baby dog Fox.
A private graveside service will be on Thursday, April 16th at High Lawn Memorial Park at 2:00 pm. Rev. Joan Terry will officiate.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold G. Treadway; a daughter, Reva Allen of Scarbro; two sons, Fred Treadway of Cocoa, Fla., and Terry Treadway of Carlisle; three sisters, Mabel Price of Oak Hill, Joann Pannell and Rita Turner, both of Beckley; a brother, Ted Humphrey of Beckley; three grandchildren, Loretta, Angela and Melany; four great-grandchildren, Darlene, Michael, Kierstin and Brock; and a special friend, Jazmine Lyall.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, with the Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Dock Lively Cemetery at Long Branch.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Haynes was born on October 18, 1923, at Oak Hill, a lifelong resident of Oak Hill. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army during WWII with tours including North Africa and Italy. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Virgie Treadway Haynes; brother, James Haynes, and twin brother Paul Haynes; six sisters, Katherine Bryant, Ruth Nagy, Margaret Criss, Dorothy Neely, June Martin, and Edith Haynes; and a special nephew, Dan Neely, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are a son, Randy Lee Haynes and wife, Joyce, of Oak Hill; daughters, Rebecca Mae Holliday and husband, Greg, of Daniels, Threasa Sue Williams of Meadow Bridge, and Tammy Lynn Blake and fiancé, Terry Benson of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Stephen Burgess, Robert Shumake, Nicole Holliday, Christopher Blake, Austin Haynes, Cheyanne Holliday, Elijah Williams, and Brandee Holliday; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Burgess; mother of his children, Gertrude Nunn; and nephew, John Haynes.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Dennis Burks officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to time of service. Burial will be at Treadway Family Cemetery, Oak Hill.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Beckley VA Medical Center, especially the nursing staff on 3A for going above and beyond their call of duty.
