OAK HILL - Martha Jeanette Arrington "Tine" Matheny, 90, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at her home following a long illness. Born Feb. 22, 1912, in Page, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Katherine Fridley Arrington. Mrs. Matheny was a member of Kincaid Church of God and a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Matheny, in 1965; a grandson, Kevin Duane Arrington; four brothers, Jesse Arrington, Regnell Arrington, Roy Arrington and Raymond Arrington; and five sisters, Virginia Phillips, Roxie Arrington, Elowise Haskett, Georgie Wilson and Delsie Arrington. Survivors include a son, Lynne A. Arrington and his wife, Julie, of Kincaid; a sister, Grace Cook of Staunton, Va; five grandchildren, Michael Arrington, Jeff Arrington, James Arrington, Angela Webb and Lisa Martin; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua Arrington, Stephanie Arrington, Amanda Martin and Emily Martin. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Kincaid Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Arrington, Jeff Arrington, Donnie Wilson, Ricky Eades, Duane Arrington and Greg Arrington. STAUNTON – Grace Mae (Arrington) Cook, 94, widow of Houston Walton Cook, of Staunton died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Brightview at Baldwin Park.

Grace was born May 11, 1920, in Page, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James Henry and Bonnie (Fridley) Arrington.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Kay Potter and husband, Russell, of Staunton; two sons, Alan Houston (Rick) Cook of Staunton and James Kevin Cook and wife, Diane, of Buchanan; four grandchildren, Derrick Walton Cook, Keri Kristina Coyner, Haily Summer Cook and Carly Maria Cook; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Grace was employed by DuPont during World War II, and played shortstop for the company baseball team. She was a charter member of the Sarah Seaton Garden Club. She was a master gardener and an award-winning flower arranger. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and arranged flowers for the church for 50 years.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at Thornrose Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Henry Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Inc., 96 Laurel Hill Road, Verona, VA 24482.

She was born in Kincaid, W. Va., and lived in Akron since 1944. She was a member of the Northwest Avenue Church of Christ. She retired after 30 years service from Woolworth's.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lyle L., and is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Rena and Jerold Gustafson of Akron, Caretta and LeRoy Streby of Brimfield, Dottie and Robert Wright of Clearwater, Fla; sisters, Alline Levisay and Pauline Boggs, both of West Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron, with Rev. Kenneth Baldwin officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Northwest Avenue Church of Christ or the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Road. Surviving sons and their wives, Don and Shirley of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Vernon and Deanann of Minnesota; two grandsons, Cletis and Nathanael, both of Minnesota; and sister, Pauline Boggs of Hugheston.

Entombment was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Reward her for what she has done, and let her achievements praise her…Pauline Boggs, 99 of Hugheston, WV went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 17, 2018 after a short illness. She was born September 16, 1919 at Page, WV and was the daughter of the late Henry and Mattie Fridley Payne.

She was a lifelong member of the Hughes Creek Community Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her son Dalton (Roberta) of Hugheston, WV, Daughter Judy Boggs Ward of Charleston, WV and Patty Boggs Martin of Rockingham, NC. 9 Grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren, and a host of church family, neighbors and friends who cherished her dearly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Boggs, son Darrell Boggs, sisters, Dorothy Myles and Alline Levisay, brother Lacy Payne, son in laws, Jerry Martin and Aubrey “Sonny” Ward, and four great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd W, Charleston WV 25387 and also Sonja Horrocks and Edie Saunders for their compassionate care and guidance throughout her short illness.

Funeral Service will be held at the Hughes Creek Community Church at 11AM on Monday, October 22, 2018 with Pastor Gary H. Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, 151 Restlawn Cemetery Road, Victor WV. Friends may call at the church Sunday, October 21, from 6-8 pm. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.
