Born Aug. 28, 1937, at Gatewood, the daughter of the late Lee Ballard and Lilly Fridley Tincher.

Mrs. Compton attended Garten Pentecostal Holiness Church; she dedicated her life to the Lord and showed her love for him through her beautiful singing and piano playing for 23 faithful years. Many were blessed by her service to the Lord.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Ray R., Charles E., Billy W., and Leonard E. Tincher, and sisters, Dorothy M. and Edith M. Tincher; a son-in-law, James R. Fox; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Aldon Compton; four children, Pamela Kay Reed and husband, Raleigh, of Oak Island, N.C., Sandra Faye Sears and husband, Robert Jr., of Brooklyn, Frances Ann Lewis and husband, David, of Brooklyn, and Yvonne Lynn Blankenship and husband, John, of Gatewood; 19 grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Bowman and husband, Scotty, Kelly Elaine Helton and husband, Ronald, Kimberly Danielle Fox and companion, Jason, PFC Benjamin James Fox, Hannah Lorraine Fox, Shannon Ashley Reed, Daniel Thomas Mullins and wife, Cynthia, Joseph Aldon Mullins and companion, Teresa, Robert Harold Sears III, Jimmy Aaron Coles Lewis and wife, Janie, David Ezra Lewis and wife, Katie, Caleb and Elijah Lewis, LeBreska, Jon-Paul and Andrew Blankenship, Kathryn, Rachel and Michael Reed; 12 great-grandchildren, Brianna and Isaiah Scott Bowman, Ronald Helton II, Tyler Bryce and Alyssa Mullins, Isaiah James Lewis, Ian Rakes, Carter Grant Lewis, Joshua, Isaiah, Tyler and Jennifer N. Reed.

Her remains rest at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1435 E. Main St., Oak Hill, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Larry Humphreys and Jackie Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in Bibb Cemetery, Wonderland.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Tommy, Joey, Robert, Benjamin, Aaron, Ezra, Caleb, Jon-Paul, Andrew and Elijah.

Lee Ray Tincher, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born July 24, 1945, in Oak Hill, WV, he was the son of the late Ray R. and Jency J. Massie Tincher.
Lee was a proud United States Navy Veteran having proudly served aboard The USS Saratoga, he was an independent insurance agent since 1982, was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Gatewood. He was a member of the Beckley Moose Lodge 1606, VFW, and the American Legion. Mr. Tincher enjoyed playing golf, fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, and especially his furry companion whom he loved and adored dearly, Francie.
He is preceded in death by brother, Gary Wayne Tincher.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his 4 children, Mark Tincher, April Cook (Duane), Brian Tincher, and Ashley Moerschel (Eric); 2 grandchildren, Hayden Tincher and his pride and joy grandson Levi Moerschel; former wife and mother of his children, Patricia Coleman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Gary W. Tincher, 72, of Fayetteville, WV passed away January 1, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. He was born December 4, 1946 in Oak Hill to Ray R. and Jency Massey Tincher.
Gary was a Fayetteville High School graduate, veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Vietnam era in Korea and worked as a finishing carpenter in the construction field. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, enjoyed the outdoors and was a Ford Mustang enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by son Jerry Tincher, grandson Logan Tincher and granddaughter Breanna Bumgarner.
Those left to cherish his memory include son Gary Tincher and his wife, Brenda of Lerona, daughter Angel Tincher Tyler and husband, Bodie of Beckley, son Roger Tincher of Oak Hill, grandchildren Alec Tincher, Lindsay Tincher, Katie Tincher, Brandon Tincher, Tayler Morton, MacKenzie Tincher, Brittney Underwood and Ashtyn Tyler, 4 great grandchildren, brother Lee R. Tincher of Fayetteville, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Services will be held Friday, January 4th at 1:00 p.m. at High Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Ludwick officiating. Entombment with military graveside honors will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service also in the chapel of the funeral home.2
