Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Drema Adkins and husband, Wes; two sons, Jim Gentry and wife, Joan, and Gary Lee Vetitoe and wife, Tam; two brothers, Bill Bess and wife, Mary Lou, and Jack Bess; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with Evangelist Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Knob Cemetery, Layland.

GATEWOOD — Ray Rexford Tincher, 84, of Gatewood, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at his home following a long illness.

Born July 30, 1923, at Gatewood, he was the son of the late Lee Ballard and Lilly Fridley Tincher.

Mr. Tincher was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren at Gatewood. He was a retired carpenter.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles E., Billy W. and Leonard E. Tincher; and sisters, Dorothy M. and Edith M. Tincher.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jency Jane Massie Tincher; two sons, Lee Ray Tincher and Gary Wayne Tincher, both of Gatewood; three brothers, his twin Roy Lee Tincher of Gatewood, Robert D. Tincher of Charleston, S.C., and James H. Tincher of Limestone, Tenn; and a sister, Shirley A. Compton of Fayetteville.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 1st Sgt. Gary Ray Tincher of Lerona, Roger Daren Tincher of Fayetteville, Jerry Wayne Tincher and Angel Ellen Tincher, both of Oak Hill, Mark Allen Tincher of Shady Spring, April Dawn Cook of Cool Ridge and Brian Matthew Tincher and Lia Ashley Tincher, both of Fayetteville; 11 great-grandchildren, Logan, Lindsay, Alec, Hayden, Taylor, Brandon and Mac-kenzie Tincher, Britteny and Brianna Baumgartner, Ashton Tyler and his special little girl, Katie Beth Tincher.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the funeral home.

Grandsons Gary Ray Tincher, Roger Tincher, Jerry Tincher, Mark Tincher and Brian Tincher and great-grandson Logan Tincher will serve as pallbearers.

Roy was a 65 year member of the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren where he faithfully served his church family as a lifetime Deacon. He was a carpenter by trade and operated his own business. Roy’s true love and passion was farming.
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Alberta Clark Tincher; twin Ray along with other brothers Charles, Billy and James Tincher; sisters Dorothy Tincher and Shirley Compton, and grandson Jonathan McGuire.
The loving family he leaves surviving include sons Larry Tincher and Leroy Tincher; daughters Gayla Scarbrough, Loretta Tincher, Lillie Cox and Lynn McGuire; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great, great-grandchildren and brother, Robert Tincher.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 8th at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren on Gatewood Rd. in Fayetteville, WV with services conducted by Rev. Rick Edwards. A gathering of family and friends will be held 1 hr. prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
High Lawn Funeral Home of Oak Hill is helping the family with the arrangements.3
