Ulyses George Fridley, 92, of Locust Grove, Virginia, formerly of Campbells Creek, passed away on December 18, 2007 at Culpeper Regional Hospital, Culpeper, Virginia.

He was born in Putney on March 28, 1915, and was a son of the late William and Agnes Miller Fridley.

Ulyses was a member of the Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, Campbells Creek. He was a retired coal miner from Carbon Fuel Coal Company with 18 years of service and a member of the UMWA.

He was also preceded in death by his son, William Fridley.

Surviving him is his wife, Goldie Layton Fridley; daughters, Barbara Hunt of Cross Lanes, Donna Williams and Joyce McCartney, both of Locust Grove, Virginia; brother, Vineyard Fridley of North Carolina; sisters, Phoeba Layton and Ernestine Thompson, both of Campbells Creeks; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.3,2,7
