"O.A. Burdette died at his home at Meadow Creek, Wednesday evening at eight o'clock after a long illness with tuberculosis, aged 43 years. He had been a trusted employee of the C. & O. R'y Co. for 20 years, and was a member of the Baptist church. He was a good citizen and leaves many friends. Mr. Burdette leaves a wife, two daughters, and two sons, viz: Mrs. Grafton Harrah, of Meadow Creek, and Mrs. Beecher Cummings, of Beckley, and Frank and John Burdette of Meadow Creek. Also his parents, Mr. & Mrs. W.P. Burdette and two sisters--Mrs Ida Johnson and Mrs. Julia Willis, all of Sandstone.
The funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Baptist church by Revs. Williams and Richmond, burial following in the Meadow Creek cemetery".3,4 |
