Note* He is a son of Mary Jane Boothe and not of Abraham Sanger's first wife Sarah Jane Mitchell. In the 1910 census, Oakley is listed as a Sanger, is enumerated after Mary's three children by Abraham, but is referred to as her son. Abraham's daughters by Sarah Jane Mitchell are also listed, but are noted as step-daughters. In his WWI draft registration, Oakley gave his name as Oakley Homer Boothe. In the 1920 census, he is listed as Oakley Boothe, brother in law of Harry Decker (who married Leslie Sanger, his [half?] sister. At his marriage in 1926, he also gave his name as Oakley H. Boothe, and named his parents as "Jacob & Mary". Frances Pauline Hooten Crouch ("Polly") named him as her mother's son in an interview in July 1972.
