Born Dec. 24, 1905, in Bumpass, Va., he was the son of the late Littleton Coleman Burruss and Bertha Catherine Meeks.

Mr. Burruss was a member of Keeneys Creek Baptist Church, Winona, and a lifetime member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1606, Beckley. He was also a retired foreman of C&O Railway with 46 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Richmond Burruss; three daughters, Barbara "Judy" Conley of Spencer, Jean "Mickey" Secrist of Winona and Jewell Vilacha of Union, N.J; two sons, Robert Burruss of Conway, S.C., and Alan Burruss of Winona; two sisters, Catherine Lacy of Mosley, Va., and Bertha Burkes of Richmond, Va; two brothers, Ashton Burruss of Stafford, Va., and Thomas Burruss of Midlothian, Va; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ansted, with the Rev. Boyd R. Secrist officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel of Rest Mausoleum, Victor.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Grandsons and family friends will serve as pallbearers.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Church of God, London, with Evangelist Simpson Preston Withrow and the Rev. Alfred Bowe officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at B.C. Hooper Funeral Home, Montgomery, W.Va., and one hour prior to service at the church.5,3
