James was born on February 2, 1948 in Greenbrier County, WV to James and Kathleen Dosier Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Wanda Faye Hicks.

He is survived by cousins: Judith Coughlin and David Coughlin.

A graveside service will be held at Wallace Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Les Mullins officiating.
