Robert Kirk Johnson, (Bob), 83, of Crewe, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Beatrice Treadway; his son Robert Johnson, Jr; his sister, Sue Treadway; his brother, Gary Treadway; and his first wife, Dixie C. Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara G. Johnson of Crewe, his daughters, Pamela Parsons (Lowell) of Deltaville, Ruth Denning (Jessie) of Henrico; his sons, John W. Johnson, Sr. (Carmen) of Chesterfield, Eric Johnson of Crewe; grandchildren, Daniel, Gladys, Elizabeth, Jennifer, John Jr., Amber, Sarah, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Emma, Robert Jr., Giovanni, Carmine, Marciano, Zoe, Angel; and his sister Constance T. Smith.

Mr. Johnson served for 20 years in the United States Air Force, serving in multiple countries, including Vietnam in 1967. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob continued serving by working as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Army, at Fort Pickett for many years. Aside from being an ace heavy equipment mechanic, he enjoyed deer hunting, and Nascar racing.

The family will receive friends, from 6:00-8:00PM, Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1400 South Main Street, Blackstone, Virginia. Services will be held 1:00PM, Friday, June 8th, at the Hamner-McMillian Chapel, with the interment to follow 3:00PM, in Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.7
