Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. David Wuletich officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Virginia Coleman Griffith, 90, of Marmet died May 15, 2003, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Griffith; parents, John and Beatrice Coleman; sister, Emma Fout; brother, Murray Coleman; brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Libby Coleman; brother-in-law, Truman Clark; friend and caregiver, Janet King; and friend, Gypsy Lang. Virginia was a member of the Marmet First Baptist Church, where, in previous years, she had served in her Sunday school class, the Refreshment Committee and Bereavement Committee. She was a past member of the Church of Christ, when they had services at Ebenezer Chapel in Marmet. She was a past member of the Marmet Woman's Club and the Homemaker's Club. She and her husband, Ralph owned Griff's Pet Shop in Marmet. She was a good seamstress and loved to knit, read and babysit. She was a 1933 graduate of East Bank High School. Virginia is survived by a son, Ralph Franklin Griffith of Birmingham, Ala; daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Paul Hastings of Marmet; sister, Bea Clark of Chesapeake; brother, Gene Coleman and wife, Dilys of Whidbey Island, Wash; brother, Tom Coleman and wife, Kay Coleman of LaPorte, Texas; grandchildren, David Hastings and wife, Patricia of Marmet, Mary Cochran of Marmet and Leslie Nichols and husband, Nick of Marmet; great-grandchildren, Eddie, Josh, and Whitney Cochran of Marmet and father, Eddie Cochran of Marmet and stepfather, Paul Wriston of Hughes Creek, Michael Hastings and mother Becky of St. Albans, Lydia Hastings and mother, Rose of Quitman, Miss., and Christian and Jordan Nichols of Marmet. Virginia is also survived by her friend and caregiver, Sue Chappell of Marmet; sister-in-law, Evelyn Coleman of Quarry Manor in Charleston; friend, Dink Johnson of Nitro; and friend, Ruth Powell of Marmet. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. prior to the service. The Rev. Dennis Vance will be officiating and burial will be at Marmet Cemetery.1,7

MURRAY J. "MOE' COLEMAN, 72, OF EAST BANK, died Nov. 7, 1990, in Memorial Division, CAMC, after a long illness He was a retired brakeman with C&O Railway. He was a member of American Legion Post 80, and the VFW. He was a veteran of World War II and a Protestant. Surviving: wife, Evelyn Morris Coleman; sisters, Virginia. Griffith of Marmet, Beatrice M. Clark of Chesapeake; brothers, Eugene V. of Oak Harbor, Wash., Thomas M. of La Porte, Texas. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank, with the Rev. Ronald C. Burnsworth officiating. Entombment will be in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 to 9 P.M. today at the funeral home. The family suggests donations donations to Hampton Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 358, East Bank, W.Va. 25067.7
