Death*circa 1908 Joseph died circa 1908 at Burnwell, Kanawha Co, WV. We regret to note the death of Joseph B. Seay, which occurred at his home at Burnwell, Kanawha county, last Saturday. His death was due to injuries received in the mines a few days before. He was working at night, and realized that the roof needed a prop, he was getting ready to put a post in when a stone that would probably weigh two tons came down on him, mashing his hips and legs horribly. He was taken to his home and given the necessary treatment and it was thought for a time that he would recover. Deceased was raised in this county. He was a son of Mr. M.W. Seay, of Mt. Nebo, who was at his bedside during his sickness. He was about 34 years of age, and was a member of the Baptist church. His honesty and good disposition made him friends wherever he went, and his death is much regretted. His wife, six children and aged and highly respected father and other relatives have our sympathy. The remains were brought to his old home last Sunday and laid to rest by the side of his mother, who died when Joe was only a small boy. [no date on the obituary.].3
