MRS. BETTY JO CALES PACK, 66, OF Forest Hill, Summers County, died Monday, March 16, 1992, in University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Va., after a short illness. She lived most of her life at Forest Hill. She was a retired telegraph operator for C&O Railroad, with 31 years of service, and a member of Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clerks. She was a member and choir director of Roles Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving: husband, Cletis Pack; sons, Charles Franklin and Cletis Pack, of Forest Hill, David Meadows of Lancaster, Pa., Harold Pack of Charleston, Eric Pack of Lewisburg, Thurman Pack of Houston, Texas, Henry Pack of Whitehall, N.Y; daughters, Elocie Rush of Nashville, Tenn., Mary Hogge of Fort Wayne, Ind., Bonnie White of Shady Spring; brother, George Cales of Warner-Robbins, Ga; sister, Margie Ballard of Hinton; 37 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Roles Chapel Baptist Church, Forest Hill, with the Rev. Roy Lee Honaker Jr. and the Rev. Carl Edwards. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Home, Hinton, and one hour prior to service.6,3

He was a retired carman from Chessie System, with 28 years' service, and an officer and member of Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. He was a former Hinton policeman, a carpenter, a building inspector for Jim Walters Corp. and a member and trustee of Roles Chapel Baptist Church, Forest Hill. He was a former Thurmond city councilman. Surviving: sons, Charles Franklin of Marmet, William David of Lancaster, Pa., Harold C. of Charleston, Eric S. of of Lewisburg, Thurman L. of Houston, Texas, Henry B. and Cletis A., both of Hinton; daughters, Elocie Rush of Nashville, Tenn., Mary Hogge of Fort Wayne, Ind., Bonnie White of Shady Spring; brothers, Charles Jr. and Wilbur, both of Hinton, Harley of Shady Spring, Curtis of Lancaster, Ohio, Woodrow of Front Royal, Va., Mike of Madison, Ohio; sister, Pauline Carter of Daniels; 37 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.
